At the Imeretian Wine Challenge 2024, four wines from Peradze Winery – Tsolikouri 2022 (oak), Tsolikouri 2023, Krahuna in qvevri 2022, and Krahuna 2023 – earned gold medals. Additionally, Tsolikouri 2023 was recognized as the best white wine of the competition. The award ceremony for the winners took place on November 2 in the city of Kutaisi.
The Imeretian Wine Challenge 2024 featured only wines made from 100% Imeretian grape varieties using various technologies. The jury included both Georgian and foreign wine experts: Vladimir Kublashvili, Tamar Imedadze, Tinatin Jajanidze, Giorgi Samanishvili, Saba Kitiashvili, Ketevan Jurkhadze, Robert Joseph (UK), Thomas Brendley (Germany), Davide Bartone (Italy), Matthew Horkey (USA), Irina Dzianchenkova (Ukraine).
The competition, organized by DMO-Imereti and the Imeretian Wine Association, was held for the second time and aims to promote Imeretian grape varieties, Imeretian wine, and the Imereti region in general in the field of viticulture.
